Schools, movies, music, and books all sound the camouflaged call of the serpent: "Come, dream, wield the Force, trust Self, be your own God, create your own reality, build a new world. Anything goes, for sin and guilt exist only in the minds of the religious."T
How can we help our children to say no?
God points us to His answer: "My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6). We can teach our children to know Truth, so that they will discern deceptions. We must warn them about New Age lures and occult lies, so that they will choose not to experience them.
The purpose of this book is to is (1) to expose today's educational, moral and spiritual corruption and (2) to equip families to stand together in confident loving resistance.
New Age thought and practices have entered the schools and the media to such an extent that none of our children are immune. While counterfeit spirituality may find more fertile ground in certain schools, it colors textbooks, television, and toys nationwide. It defies opposition, because it usually sounds good. Tailor-made to fit human nature and flow with our changing culture, it offers whatever children want to hear, see, have, and be.
Brooks Alexander, founder of Spiritual Counterfeits Project, exposed the heart of New Age deception in a 1983 SPC report, The Coming World Religion:
"Evil is not the opposite of good, as though it might co-exist on an equal basis. Evil is a distortion of the goodness God created...
"Evil the Bible shows us, is ... an ontological parasite. It rides on the back of the given good, even as it deforms it. For that reason, it is never evil in itself that tempts us. It is always a good that attracts us - on that we imagine, an even 'better' good than that which God proposes...
"At its heart, the lie is seduction to an idolatry of the image of God, a worship of the self and its powers, disguised as 'secret knowledge' and presented as 'god-realization.'"
Confident that God reigns, we can confront these deceptive forces, which reach out for children’s hearts and minds. He, who loves our children even more than we do, will show us how to prepare them to recognize and resist evil - no matter how inviting its call.
