"Then Jesus went about all the
cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the
gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease
among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was
moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and
scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. hen He said to
His disciples, 'The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are
few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out
laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:35-38
"Another parable He put forth to them, saying:
'The kingdom of
heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 'but
while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and
went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a
crop, then the tares also appeared.
"So the servants of the
owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your
field? How then does it have tares?’
"He said to them, ‘An enemy
has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go
and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up
the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow
together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will
say to the reapers, 'First gather together the tares and
bind them in bundles to burn them, but 'gather the wheat
into my barn.”
Matthew 13:24-30
“He who sows the good seed is the
Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the
sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked
one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is
the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. Therefore
as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at
the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and
they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend,
and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the
furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the
kingdom of their Father."
Matthew 13:37-43
“The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and
rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does
not know how. For the earth yields crops by itself: first
the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head.
But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the
sickle, because the harvest has come.”
Mark 4:26-29
“Now the parable is this:
The seed is the word of God. Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil
comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should
believe and be saved. But the ones on the rock are those who,
when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root,
who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have
heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of
life, and bring no fruit to maturity. But the ones that fell on
the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble
and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience."
Luke 8:11-15
“My food is to do the will of Him who
sent Me, and to finish His work. Do you not say, ‘There are
still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to
you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already
white for harvest! And he who reaps receives wages,
and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he
who reaps may rejoice together. For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’ I sent you to reap that for
which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have
entered into their labors.”
John 4:34-38
“The hour has come that the
Son of Man should be glorified. Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it
remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. He
who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this
world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, let
him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also.
If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.
“Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father,
save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this
hour. Father, glorify Your name.”
John 12:23-28
"Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows,
that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the
flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the
Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary
while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do
not lose heart."
Galatians 6:7-10
"Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord.
See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth,
waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter
rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming
of the Lord is at hand."
James 5:7-8
"...in the days
of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to
sound [the last trumpet], the mystery of God would be
finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets."
Revelation 10:7
[Daniel's Old
Testament prophecy]
“...behold, One
like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven!
...His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall
not pass away,
And His kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed."
Daniel 7:13-14
"Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and
on the cloud sat
One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in
His hand a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the
temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, 'Thrust
in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come 'for You to reap,
for the harvest 'of the earth is ripe.' So He who sat on the
cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped."
Revelation 14:14-16
"Then another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven,
he also having a sharp sickle. And another angel came out from the altar, kwho had power
over fire, and he cried with a loud cry to him who had the sharp
sickle, saying, 'Thrust in your sharp sickle and gather the
clusters of the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe.' So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and
gathered the
vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the
wrath of God. And the winepress was trampled outside the city,
and blood came out of the winepress..."
Revelation 14:17-20
