Humility

"God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen... that, as it is written, 'He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.'” 1 Corinthians 1:27-31

"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."
1 Peter 5:5-6

The Humility Of Jesus

"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:5-6

"He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you." 2 Corinthians 13:4

His promise to those who humble themselves

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”  Matthew 11:28-30

"...the meek shall inherit the earth, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace." Psalm 37:11

"For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 14:11

Psalm 147:5

"Surely He scorns the scornful, but gives grace to the humble."
Proverb 3:34

"For You will save the humble people, but will bring down haughty looks." Psalm 18:27

"...He gives more grace. Therefore He says: 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.' Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up." James 4:6-10

"The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way.
All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth to such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.
For Your name’s sake, O Lord, pardon my iniquity, for it is great."
Psalm 25:9-11

"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 5:9

"He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the strength of Christ may rest upon me. Wherefore I take pleasure in weakness: for when I am weak then am I strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

What a Steady Diet of Narcissism Has Done: "'The psychology-based lie of self-esteem centered childrearing has produced a generation of emotionally stunted, chronic adolescents. Given the current disregard for God’s Word and what God has to say about child-rearing, it was inevitable that the cultural narcissism would infect the churches with catastrophic results."
