"Flee sexual immorality. Every sin
that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins
against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the
Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For
you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your
spirit, which are God’s."
1 Corinthians 6:18-20
"Do not be deceived, God
is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows
to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit
will of the Spirit reap everlasting life." Galatians 6:7-8
"...the wrath of God is
revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of
men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.... Professing to be
wise, they became fools....
"Therefore God also gave them up to
uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies
among themselves....
"God gave them up to vile passions. For
even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against
nature. Likewise also the men... men with men committing what is
shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error
which was due.
"And even as they did not like to retain God in
their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased [depraved] mind,
to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all
unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness,
maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit,
evil-mindedness.
"They are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent,
proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who,
knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such
things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve
of those who practice them."
Romans 1:18-32
"You shall make no
covenant with them [the inhabitants of the land], nor with their
gods. They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against Me.
For if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.” Exodus 23:32-33
The solution
"Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no
longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once
for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
"Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God
in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body,
that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as
instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being
alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under
grace.
"What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under
grace? Certainly not! Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves
to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to
death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? But God be thanked that though
you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to
which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves
of righteousness."
Romans 6:8-18
For the wages of sin is death, but
the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 6:23
"The wicked have laid a snare for me, yet I have not strayed from
Your precepts."
Psalm 119:110
