“For thus says the
Lord God, the Holy One of Israel:
'In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.'
But you would not..."
Isaiah 30:15-16
“He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and
the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own
did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them
He gave the right to become children of God, to those who
believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the
will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."
John 1:10-13
“He who believes
in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe
the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on
him.”
John 3:36
“The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a
marriage for his son, and sent out his servants to call those
who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to
come.
"Again, he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are
invited, See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and
fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the
wedding. ’ But they made light of it and went their ways,
one to his own farm, another to his business. And the rest
seized his servants, treated them spitefully, and killed them."
Matthew
22:2-6
“You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have
eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you
are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. I do
not receive honor from men. But I know you, that you do not
have the love of God in you. I have come in My Father’s
name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his
own name, him you will receive. " John 5:39-43
“O Jerusalem,
Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who
are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children
together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you
were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate;
and assuredly, I say to you, you shall not see Me until the time
comes when you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the
Lord!’ ”
Luke 13:34-35
“Then all the men
who knew that their wives had burned incense to other gods, with
all the women who stood by, a great multitude, and all the
people who dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered
Jeremiah, saying: 'As for the word that you have spoken to us in
the name of the Lord, we will not listen to you! But we
will certainly do whatever has gone out of our own mouth, to
burn incense to the queen of heaven...."
Jeremiah
44:15-17
“Thus says the
Lord: 'Stand in the ways and see,
And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it;
Then you will find rest for your souls.
But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’
"Also, I set watchmen over you, saying,
‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’
But they said, ‘We will not listen.’
“Therefore hear, you nations, and know, O congregation....
Behold, I will certainly bring calamity on this people — the fruit of their thoughts,
Because they have not heeded My words,
Nor My law, but rejected it.”
Jeremiah
6:16-19
“You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You
always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do
you. " Acts
7:51
“See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they
did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more
shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from
heaven, whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has
promised, saying, 'Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but
also heaven.' Now this, 'Yet once more,' indicates the
removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that
are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.
'Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be
shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably
with reverence and godly fear. 'For our God is a consuming
fire." Hebrews 12:25-29
“Then He said to
him, 'A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, and
sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were
invited, ‘Come, for all things are now ready.’ But they all
with one accord began to make excuses. The first said to
him, ‘I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see
it. I ask you to have me excused.’ And another said, ‘I have
bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you
to have me excused.’ Still another said, ‘I have married a
wife, and therefore I cannot come.’
“So that servant came and reported these things to his master.
Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant,
‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and
bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the
blind.’ And the servant said, ‘Master, it is done as you
commanded, and still there is room.’ Then the master said to the
servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them
to come in, that my house may be filled. For I say to you that
none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper.’
” Luke
