‘You shall not eat anything with the blood, nor shall
you practice divination or soothsaying." Lev 19:26

commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision, divination, a
worthless thing, and the deceit of their heart." Jeremiah 14:14
“They have envisioned futility and false divination, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord!’ But the
Lord has not sent them; yet they hope that the word may be confirmed." Ezekiel 13:6-7
“And will you profane Me among My people...by your lying to

your magic charms by which you hunt souls there like birds. I will tear them from your

veils and deliver My people out of your hand, and they shall no longer be as prey in your
hand. Then you shall know that I am the Lord. Because with lies you have made the heart
of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and you have strengthened the hands
of the wicked, so that he does not turn from his wicked way to save his life.
Therefore you shall no longer envision futility nor practice divination; for I will
deliver My people out of your hand, and you shall know that I am the Lord.” ’ ”

they followed idols, became idolaters, and went after the nations who were all around them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them that they should not do like them. 16So they left all the commandments of the Lord their God, made for themselves a molded image and two calves, made a wooden image and worshiped all the host of heaven, and served Baal. 17And they caused their sons and daughters to pass through the fire, practiced witchcraft and soothsaying, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger. 18Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel...." 2 Kings 17:15-18
"[Manasseh] rebuilt the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; he raised up altars for Baal, and made a wooden image, as Ahab king of Israel had done; and he worshiped all the host of heaven and served them. He also built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, “In Jerusalem I will put My name.” And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord. Also he made his son pass through the fire, practiced soothsaying, used witchcraft, and consulted spiritists and mediums. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger." 2 Kings 21:1-6
"And the houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah shall be defiled like the place of Tophet, because of all the houses on whose roofs they have burned incense to all the host of heaven, and poured out drink offerings to other gods.” Jeremiah 19:13
I will cut off every trace of Baal from this place,

5 Those who worship the host of heaven on the housetops;
Those who worship and swear oaths by the Lord,
But who also swear by Milcom;
6 Those who have turned back from following the Lord,
And have not sought the Lord, nor inquired of Him.”
