"In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill...." The Club of Rome
"We have argued that the central public policy goal for environmental groups is at odds with the needs of individuals and communities. Environmental groups today seek the preservation of natural resources from human use over their protection for human use...." Robert Huberty of Capital Research Center, speaking before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Resources, May 2000
Climate change is a ‘matter of faith’, says ecumenical leader: "World Council of Churches head Dr Samuel Kobia has called concerns about climate change 'a matter of faith' and told the Christian faith community that it must be at the vanguard of the response....'I think as Christians we should be the ones to lead the way so that others then can follow because for us it is not just a matter of political or economic or ecological concern it is a matter of faith.'” See Al Gore’s Vision of Global Salvation
Gore hits at US over climate change: "Al Gore... urged delegates at the UN conference on climate change to ignore Washington if necessary to pursue the 'moral imperative' of a new global regime. 'My country is principally responsible for obstructing progress here in Bali,' the former US vice-president told 2,000 of the 12,000 people attending the conference on Thursday.... 'We must have the moral imagination of humankind to see ourselves as the symbol of global civilisation.” See Al Gore’s Vision of Global Salvation and the facts about Genuine Science: Alaska's growing Hubbard Glacier.
'Tax Parents for Children's Carbon Emissions': [Australia] "Having babies is bad for the planet, and parents of more than two children should be charged a birth levy and annual tax to offset the 'greenhouse gases' their child will be responsible for over his or her lifetime. At the same time, those who use and prescribe contraceptives and sterilization procedures should earn tax relief for such 'greenhouse friendly services' that help to keep the population size down.... 'Far from showering financial booty on new mothers and thereby rewarding greenhouse-unfriendly behavior, a 'Baby Levy' in the form of a carbon tax should apply, in line with the 'polluter pays' principle.'"
Are We on the Brink of a 'New Little Ice Age?' "Evidence for abrupt climate change is readily apparent in ice cores taken from Greenland and Antarctica. One sees clear indications of long-term changes... with CO˛ and proxy temperature changes associated with the last ice age.... We say chaotic because these millennial shifts look like anything but regular oscillations. Rather, they look like rapid, decade-long transitions between cold and warm climates."
A cold wind from the ocean: "The Gulf Stream [flows from the Gulf of Mexico across the Atlantic ocean to the coast of Norway] plays a key role in the climate system by importing vast quantities of heat and salt into the North Atlantic... Now an analysis of sediment cores from the Florida Straits, where the Gulf Stream enters the North Atlantic, has been used to reconstruct a record of the past 1,000 years. The results suggest that the Gulf Stream was weakened during the Little Ice Age (AD 1200–1850 [actually, by 1840 we were in a warming cycle -- long before cars) -- a time of unusually cold conditions in the North Atlantic region..."
Storm Surge: "With every 'extreme weather event,' passionate climate change activists ride a public wave of concern. Former Vice President Al Gore believes we must make drastic reductions in carbon emissions because weather-related disasters are on track to cost as much as $1 trillion by 2040.... Mr. Gore is right that there is a growing problem, but he has identified the wrong solution.....
"It has become more popular than ever to reside in low-lying, coastal areas that are particularly vulnerable to extreme weather. ...more damage will occur when many more people with much more wealth live in harm's way." See next link:
Climate. Not So Hot: "The latest twist in the global warming saga is the revision in data at NASA's Goddard Institute... indicating that the warmest year on record for the U.S. was not 1998, but rather 1934.... The new data undermine another frightful talking point from environmentalists, which is that six of the 10 hottest years on record have occurred since 1990. Wrong. NASA now says six of the 10 warmest years were in the 1930s and 1940s, and that was before the bulk of industrial CO2 emissions were released into the atmosphere."See Saving the Earth
Wish You Weren't Here: "Having determined that nearly every feature of modern human existence is bad for the environment -- driving, eating meat, turning on the lights, having children, exhaling -- the greens have followed the argument to its logical limit. The problem is human existence. That, at least, is the message of this summer's surprise eco-hit, 'The World Without Us.'"
The deadly cost of environmentalism: "Despite evidence that, properly used, DDT is neither harmful to humans nor animals, environmental extremists fight for a continued ban. This has led to millions of illnesses and deaths from malaria, especially in Africa....
"Environmental extremists see DDT in a different light. Alexander King, co-founder of the Club of Rome, said, 'In Guyana, within almost two years, it had almost eliminated malaria, but at the same time, the birth rate had doubled. So my chief quarrel with DDT in hindsight is that it greatly added to the population problem.' '...why should humans get priority over other forms of life?.. I don't see any respect for mosquitoes.... None of this is news to politicians. It's just that environmental extremists have the ears of politicians, and potential victims don't. See GORBACHEV'S PLAN FOR A UNITED WORLD
Giant toxic cloud may bring flood and droughts to two billion people: "They call it the Asian Brown Cloud.... a vast blanket of smog that covers much of the region....
"Scientists have already observed that two thirds of the 46,000 glaciers in the Himalayas are shrinking, leading to increasingly severe floods downstream and, eventually, to widespread drought. Greenhouse gases were previously thought to be the main cause of the problem... But the research team from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in California says that the Asian Brown Cloud... is just as much to blame....
"[A reader's response] '...Of course, the large population IS the problem. Control the population and the problem is solved. If we don't do it, nature will and soon.'" See the next link:
Gorbachev's Plan For A United World: "Cut the population by 90 percent and there aren't enough people left to do a great deal of ecological damage." (Sam Keen, speaking at Gorbachev's State of the Word Forum, closing plenary session)
Global Warming Skeptics Advance: "...despite attempts to silence global warming critics, the ground of the climate change debate is starting to shift their way, giving their views more exposure and effect." See Green Lies and Amazing Truths
Global Warming, Not: '“Global warming isn’t global,' Iain Murray of the Competitive Enterprise Institute pointed out.... 'It is much warmer in Antarctica, Scandinavia, and Great Britain, but the tropical areas haven’t warmed at all.... Surface temperature measurements are not reliable, so satellite information is much more useful.'”
U.S. leg of Live Earth hits key notes: "'Get rid of all these rotten politicians that we have in Washington, who are nothing more than corporate toadies,' said Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the environmentalist author, president of Waterkeeper Alliance and Robert F. Kennedy's son, who grew hoarse from shouting. 'This is treason. And we need to start treating them as traitors.'"
"The sad case of the Spotted Owl: "Environmentalists are quick to lecture the rest of us about the ways of nature. Don't clean the dead trees off the forest floor, it's natural. Cattle and horses on the range aren't native, so let the grizzles and wolves devour them, it's natural. Man isn't part of the ecology, lock him out of vast areas of land, it's natural.
"It's interesting to note how the 'natural' argument only applies when it is used to impose the radical environmental agenda. Case in point, the Northern Spotted Owl.....As a result of the hysteria to save the 'endangered' owls, U.S. timber sales were reduced by 80-90%, forcing saw mills to close, loggers to go broke and whole towns which depended on the industry to literally disappear. The federal crackdown on the industry caused a shift in U.S. domestic lumber supplies to foreign soils.... It was no secret that the spotted owl didn't need 'old growth forests' to survive, since spotted owls were found living under bridges and in McDonald signs. What it needed was a good food source like any other species. Now we know it was undercut by another owl - a completely natural occurrence." See The U.N. Plan for Your Community
Scientist Implicates Worms in Global Warming: "...a German study found that worms produce greenhouse gases 290 times more potent than carbon dioxide. Worms are being used commercially to compost organic material and is in preference to putting it into the landfill. The German government wants 45% of all waste to be composted by 2015." Does that rule out natural composting? This would be funny if our government's effort to save the earth wasn't so serious. See Green Lies and Amazing Truths
Animal Group Blames Cat Influx on… Global Warming: "A coalition of animal shelters says there has been a 'dramatic' increase in the number of cats brought in - and it blames the trend on global warming." S
We're doomed. What's for dinner? "...the front page story was 'Climate Study: Millions will go hungry and dry.'... Now, you might ask yourself, why should we have any confidence in a report from an international institution that perpetrated the 'Oil-for-Food' scandal? Or that stacked its Human Rights Commission with representatives of the most repressive nations? Or that initiated a ban on DDT, thus leading to the needless deaths of millions from malaria?... I mean, just how much credibility does the United Nations have these days?... Despite the Oscar statuette waiting for Al Gore's dubious documentary, should we really take the word of Hollywood celebrities, politicians, and a U.N. panel that, according to the Sunday news story, involves a 'group of 50 researchers, representing thousands more, (who) will then meet in secret to put the finishing touches on the report?'"
Green Goodies: "It's a green dream come true, carte blanche to promulgate endless regulations barring tree-cutting, house-building, water-damming, snowmobile-riding, waterskiing, garden-planting, or any other human activity. ...The draft of Mr. Rahall's bill was greeted by a glowing letter from 13 environmental outfits -- EarthJustice, Environmental Defense, American Rivers, the usual crew -- voicing their /strong support/ for the legislation. As they might, since it appears they wrote it."
'Fight Global Warming, Give Up Meat' [UK]: "...the Environment Agency -- a statutory body set up under a 1995 law -- said it was considering ways to deal with global warming, one of which was to encourage people to eat less meat. The agency said that it was unlikely that most people would swear off meat entirely and that the issue would have to be introduced 'gently' for fear of alienating the public."See The Vegan Way of Saving the Earth
'Green' Energy Source a Major Polluter: "Call it green pollution. The ethanol industry, which is marketed as environmentally friendly and has been called a 'cornerstone of America's energy policy,' is dirtying air and water supplies across the heartland.... And industry watchers said pollution is going to get worse. 'There seems to be this mad rush toward expansion of the alternative fuels industry without sufficient due diligence,' said Bill Becker, executive director of the National Association of Clean Air Agencies."
Ethanol Industry, Congress Accused of Bending Rules: "...drawing criticism from regulators, environmentalists, and rural Americans, the Environmental Protection Agency is introducing a new rule that will allow ethanol refineries to emit 150 percent more pollution than they currently do - without any penalties."
Global Warming Swindle: [A summary of a BBC documentary by Thomas Sowell, 3-15-07] ] "Distinguished scientists specializing in climate and climate-related fields... present readily understood graphs showing what a crock the current global warming hysteria is. These include scientists from MIT and top-tier universities in a number of countries. Some of these are scientists whose names were paraded on some of the global warming publications that are being promoted in the media — but who state plainly that they neither wrote those publications nor approved them....
"While the public has been led to believe that 'all' the leading scientists buy the global warming hysteria and the political agenda that goes with it, in fact the official reports from the United Nations or the National Academy of Sciences are written by bureaucrats — and then garnished with the names of leading scientists who were 'consulted,' but whose contrary conclusions have been ignored....
"[The earth]... is not as warm today as it was some centuries ago, before there were any automobiles and before there was as much burning of fossil fuels as today. None of the dire things predicted today happened then. The BBC documentary goes into some of the many factors that have caused the earth to warm and cool for centuries.... [See Green Lies and Amazing Truths.]
"What is even scarier than seeing how easily the public, the media, and the politicians have been manipulated ... is discovering how much effort has been put into silencing scientists who dare to say that the emperor has no clothes." See False or Politicized Science
So how did An Inconvenient Truth become required classroom viewing? "Even climate change experts say many of the claims in Al Gore's film are wrong.... 18-year-old McKenzie, a Northern Ontario high schooler, says he has had the film An Inconvenient Truth shown to him by four different teachers this year....
"Mr. Gore's filmed climate-change lecture is showing up in classrooms across Canada, frequently unaccompanied by critical analysis or a discussion of competing theories....In England, the government has made the movie part of the public curriculum. In Spain, the government is buying copies of the movie for all of its schools. In Australia, private donors are buying copies for schools.... But some of Mr. Gore's allies have acknowledged glaring inaccuracies in the film."
The Tale of Two Houses (Snopes confirms this comparison of Al Gore's mansion with George Bush's house]: "HOUSE # 1 (20 room energy guzzling mansion) is outside of Nashville, Tennessee. It is the abode of that renowned environmentalist and filmmaker, Al Gore.
"HOUSE # 2 (model eco-friendly house) is on a ranch near Crawford, Texas. Also known as 'the Texas White House,' it is the private residence of the President of the United States, George W. Bush. So whose house is gentler on the environment? Yet another story you WON'T hear on CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC or read about in the New York Times or the Washington Post. Indeed, for Mr. Gore, it's truly 'an inconvenient truth.'"
Warning to homeowners as the green vision is unveiled [UK]: "Homeowners who refuse to make their properties energy efficient will face financial penalties under drastic government plans to transform Britain into the world's first 'green' economy.... A draft Climate Change Bill published yesterday dismissed sceptics, insisting there was 'no longer any real debate' that climate change was happening and man-made emissions were the main cause.... Mr Blair compared the fight against climate change to the battle against fascism."
Christians Taking Sides in Global Warming Debate: "Efforts aimed at curbing carbon emissions blamed for global warming could have a negative impact on the world's poor, according to a Christian group formed recently to oppose what it sees as climate change alarmism in evangelical circles....
"The Cornwall Alliance, which says it has support from more than 1,500 religious leaders and scientists, stands in contrast to other evangelical movements which have embraced predictions that global warming will have catastrophic effects... In February, 86 Christian leaders, including best-selling author and pastor Rick Warren, signed a statement... [that] declared that climate change 'is being caused mainly by human activities' and that 'Christian moral convictions demand our response to the climate change problem.'" See Green Lies and Amazing Truths
Suffering in Silence: "CBS aired the hour-long special that brought her anti-pesticide manifesto to a wider audience, 'The Silent Spring of Rachel Carson.' ... Some of Carson's star anecdotes about DDT's carcinogenic qualities turned out to be flawed: Her tale of 'a housewife who abhorred spiders' spraying her basement in August and winding up dead of 'acute leukemia' by October seems absurd to the modern reader.... Partly as a result of Carson's work, the U.S. banned DDT in 1972.... Greenpeace, the World Wildlife Fund and more than 300 other environmental groups fought tooth and nail against it.....To what effect? The World Health Organization now estimates that there are between 300 and 500 million cases of malaria annually, causing approximately one million deaths. About 80% of those are young children, millions of whom could have been saved over the years with the regular application of DDT to their environments." See Green Lies
Al Gore's 'Army' Gets Basic Training: "Al Gore has trained some 1,000 Americans to deliver his Oscar-winning 'An Inconvenient Truth' slide show to schools, Rotary clubs and nursing homes across the nation..... Members of Gore’s 'army' range from Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Dhani Jones to comedian Chevy Chase’s wife Jayni to newswoman Greta Van Susteren’s sister Lise....
[The other side:]'"I’m very uncomfortable with 1,000 people who aren’t technically trained in a field as complex and important as this proselytizing for one extreme point of view,' [said] Pat Michaels, senior fellow with the conservative Cato Institute."
Group Calls for Population Control to Stop Global Warming: "'If we had half as many people, we wouldn't have much of a climatic warming problem," argued Oberlink.... It's easier to single out targets like Big Oil and Big Detroit instead of calling for changes in personal behavior or taking on a tough issue like population growth." SeeSaving the Earth
Green Lies and Amazing Truths: "In spite of Al Gore's 'Inconvenient Truth,' there's no scientific consensus on human-caused global warming! His claim that Greenland's ice will melt, causing oceans to rise twenty feet, is science fiction, not reality. Unadulterated scientific facts show us that, since 2005, Greenland's ice mass has been growing, not shrinking! So has its population of polar bears."
Czech Pres - Environmentalism is a religion: "Environmentalism is a religion that is based more on political ambitions than science, the president of the Czech Republic warned Friday. Speaking at the Cato Institute, a public policy think-tank, President Vaclav Klaus said that environmentalists who clamor for policy change to combat global warming 'only pretend' to be promoting environmental protection, and are actually being driven by a political agenda. 'Environmentalism should belong in the social sciences,' much like the idea of communism or other "-isms" such as feminism, Klaus said, adding that 'environmentalism is a religion" that seeks to reorganize the world order as well as social behavior and value systems worldwide." See Al Gore’s Vision of Global Salvation
Meeting Doctor Doom: [Scroll down to title] "The speech was given by Dr. Eric R. Pianka, the University of Texas evolutionary ecologist and lizard expert who the Academy named the 2006 Distinguished Texas Scientist.... One of Pianka's earliest points was a condemnation of anthropocentrism, or the idea that humankind occupies a privileged position in the Universe.... Pianka hammered his point home by exclaiming, 'We're no better than bacteria!'...
"...he asserted that the only feasible solution to saving the Earth is to reduce the population to 10 percent of the present number.... War and famine would not do, he explained. Instead, disease offered the most efficient and fastest way to kill the billions that must soon die if the population crisis is to be solved.... We've got airborne 90 percent mortality in humans. Killing humans. Think about that.'"
I heard a similar call for population reduction from Sam Keen at Gorbachev's 1995 State of the World Forum. It brought wild applause. Obviously the elite audience (not including reporters like me) expected to be part of the remnant that would share the cleansed planet. See the next link:
repeat Gorbachev's Plan For A United World: "...there was very strong agreement that religious institutions have to take primary responsibility for the population explosion.... Cut the population by 90 percent and there aren't enough people left to do a great deal of ecological damage." [Loud applause followed Sam Keen's statement]See Al Gore’s Vision of Global Salvation
Al Gore's mansion described as energy hog: "Al Gore deserves an award for hypocrisy, says the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. The group, which studied Gore's electric and natural gas consumption, says his mansion in Belle Meade area of Nashville 'consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year.' In his documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, Gore urges Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.... 'In 2006, Gore devoured... more than 20 times the national average.'" See Gore's Vision of Global Salvation
Climate (cooling). Iceland's winter giving polar bears cold shoulder: "Thick pack ice, the like of which has not been seen for decades, is stretching into the western fjords as temperatures plummet and a bitter wind blows in from Greenland.... There have been numerous accounts of bears making land on the shores of Iceland, creating consternation in the local population."See Curriculum's teaches children a different message about polar bears
Global Warming Smear: "Mark Twain once complained that a lie can make it half way around the world before the truth gets its boots on. That's been the case of late in the climate change debate, as political and media activists attempt to stigmatize anyone who doesn't pay homage to their 'scientific consensus.' ....
"....commissioning such [baseless but "convenient"] research is also standard practice at NASA and other government agencies and at liberal groups such as the Pew Charitable Trusts...."See False & politicized science
New Books Confirm Global Warming is Natural; Not Caused By Human Activity: "Singer and Avery note that most of the earth’s recent warming occurred before 1940, and thus before much human-emitted CO2. Moreover, physical evidence shows 600 moderate warmings in the earth’s last million years. The evidence ranges from ancient Nile flood records, Chinese court documents and Roman wine grapes to modern spectral analysis of polar ice cores, deep seabed sediments, and layered cave stalagmites.
"Unstoppable Global Warming shows the earth’s temperatures following variations in solar intensity through centuries of sunspot records, and finds cycles of sun-linked isotopes in ice and tree rings. The book cites the work of Svensmark, who says cosmic rays vary the earth’s temperatures by creating more or fewer of the low, wet clouds that cool the earth. It notes that global climate models can’t accurately register cloud effects." See Saving the Earth
Nuremberg for global warming skeptics? "...political commentator Henry Louis Mencken (1880-1956) warned that 'The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed -- and hence clamorous to be led to safety -- by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.' The Weather Channel has taken up that task....
"Dr. Heidi Cullen, the Weather Channel's climatologist... advocates that the American Meteorological Society (AMS) strip their seal of approval from any TV weatherman expressing skepticism about the predictions of manmade global warming....
"The environmental extremists' true agenda has little or nothing to do with climate change. Their true agenda is to find a means to control our lives....
"Last year, 60 prominent scientists signed a letter saying, 'Significant [scientific] advances have been made since the [Kyoto] protocol was created, many of which are taking us away from a concern about increasing greenhouse gases. If, back in the mid-1990s, we knew what we know today about climate, Kyoto would almost certainly not exist, because we would have concluded it was not necessary." See False or Politicized Science
Will Al Gore Melt? Al Gore is traveling around the world telling us how we must fundamentally change our civilization due to the threat of global warming.... But if we are to embark on the costliest political project ever, maybe we should make sure it rests on solid ground....
"The interview had been scheduled for months....Yet an hour later, he came back to tell us that Bjorn Lomborg should be excluded from the interview because he's been very critical of Mr. Gore's message about global warming and has questioned Mr. Gore's evenhandedness....
"...the U.N. Climate Panel suggests that if we follow Al Gore's path down toward an environmentally obsessed society, it will have big consequences for the world, not least its poor. In the year 2100, Mr. Gore will have left the average person 30% poorer, and thus less able to handle many of the problems we will face, climate change or no climate change....
"Mr. Gore says that global warming will increase malaria and highlights Nairobi as his key case. According to him, Nairobi was founded right where it was too cold for malaria to occur. However, with global warming advancing, he tells us that malaria is now appearing in the city. Yet this is quite contrary to the World Health Organization's finding. Today Nairobi is considered free of malaria, but in the 1920s and '30s, when temperatures were lower than today, malaria epidemics occurred regularly.....
"He presents pictures from the 2% of Antarctica that is dramatically warming and ignores the 98% that has largely cooled over the past 35 years. The U.N. panel estimates that Antarctica will actually increase its snow mass this century." See Training children to thank a goddess
Of Mice and Men: "While their country is bracing itself for ethnic violence the Dutch worry about mice. The Dutch Party for Animals has forbidden the laying of poison to eradicate mice in its parliamentary offices. The party... will only allow 'humane traps'...”
California sees $1bn loss from cold weather [slow to open]: "Cold weather and freezing temperatures have decimated California’s orange crop leaving the state’s growers facing losses that could run to more than $1bn." See the next link and notice the change in emphasis to "climate change" rather than "global warming crisis," which cannot be backed by actual statistics.
UN chief presses White House to tackle climate change: "In a speech to the Center for Strategic and International Studies after the meeting, Mr Ban warned that climate change was 'an all-encompassing threat - to health, to food and water supplies, to the coastal cities where nearly half the world's population live. Acting on climate change will be one of my top priorities."See Saving the Eart
Evangelicals Warming Up To Global Warming: "'The Great Warming' — a documentary made in Canada and narrated by actor Keanu Reeves and singer Alanis Morissette — tells the same disturbing story as Al Gore's 'An Inconvenient Truth.' But it has become a strategic vehicle for reaching out particularly to Evangelicals....
"Many conservative Christians have held a negative view of environmentalism, some even calling activists 'pantheistic tree-huggers.' Along with the Bush administration, they have insisted that the scientific evidence isn't yet in....
"Richard Cizik, Washington spokesman of the National Association of Evangelicals, urges action based on the biblical demand for 'creation care.' Rev. Cizik had his own change of heart after listening to an Evangelical scientist from Oxford University lay out the scientific consensus.... The film has support from a broad range of groups, including the National Council of Churches (NCC).... The Rev. Joel Hunter... the new president of the Christian Coalition... said, 'I'm part of the religious right, and am one of those leaders who wants to expand the agenda.'" See False & politicized science
A Primeval Tide of Toxins: "The fireweed began each spring as tufts of hairy growth and spread across the seafloor fast enough to cover a football field in an hour. When fishermen touched it, their skin broke out in searing welts. Their lips blistered and peeled. Their eyes burned and swelled shut. Water that splashed from their nets spread the inflammation to their legs and torsos. ... .In many places — the atolls of the Pacific, the shrimp beds of the Eastern Seaboard, the fiords of Norway — some of the most advanced forms of ocean life are struggling to survive while the most primitive are thriving and spreading. Fish, corals and marine mammals are dying while algae, bacteria and jellyfish are growing unchecked." See Signs of the times
Green Gospels: Environmental movement aims for religious mainstream: "Eco-friendly attitudes have increasingly moved into the mainstream of many faiths....'The environment is a great unifier,' said the Rev. James Keenan, a Boston College moral theologian who is hosting a meeting of more than 400 Catholic scholars in Padua, Italy, starting Saturday. 'You are not going to find anyone saying, 'Well, there is no moral connection between religion and the environment.' All the faiths can bring something to the table.'....
"The Evangelical Environmental Network — best known for its clean-air campaign 'What Would Jesus Drive?' — opened a new effort earlier this year against global warming, the Evangelical Climate Initiative, which drew some of its most prominent supporters to date, including the Rev. Rick Warren." See Chapter 5: Saving the Earth
God, Gore and global warming: (Baptist Press) "It is pretty rare for a documentary to make a million dollars at the box office, so the fact that Al Gore's 'An Inconvenient Truth' has already brought in over $10 million is impressive. ... Is it true?[No!] ...
"Christians are always and everywhere called to be agents of Christ's redemption. Though the earth groans, we have an opportunity to work with a resurrection mentality, for Christ has made all things new."
No. Though every regenerated Christian is "a new creation" in Christ, He has not yet "made all things new." That wonderful moment is still to come. See Hope in Christ and Al Gore's Vision of Global Salvation
Religion & Environment.US evangelicals seek green laws: "The statement - signed by mega-church pastors like Rick Warren... puts saving 'God's green earth' on a par with traditional evangelical concerns like abortion and gay marriage." Even secular scientists now agree that man cannot engineer or stop climate change. See Chapter 5: Saving the Earth and the next link:
repeatGlobal warming - Science faces State of Fear: "...what has many even more upset though is the systematic manner in which Crichton attacks the science behind the global warming theory. He simply raises too many good questions, most which have been strongly asserted by respected global warming skeptics for more than a decade....
● most of the warming in the past century occurred before 1940, before CO2 emissions could have been a major factor
● temperatures fell between 1940 and 1970 even as CO2 levels increased
● temperature readings from reporting stations outside the U.S. are poorly maintained and staffed and probably inaccurate; those in the U.S., which are probably more accurate, show little or no warming trend..." Now as always, climatic changes are far beyond man's influence. See The Creator of all
