"We have argued that the central public policy goal for environmental groups is at odds with the needs of individuals and communities. Environmental groups today seek the preservation of natural resources from human use over their protection for human use...." From BBC (British Broadcasting).  What Happened to Global Warming? "This headline may come as a bit of a surprise, so too might that fact that the warmest year recorded globally was not in 2008 or 2007, but in 1998. [Not true. See next link]... For the last 11 years we have not observed any increase in global temperatures. And our climate models did not forecast it, even though man-made carbon dioxide, the gas thought to be responsible for warming our planet, has continued to rise. So what on Earth is going on?"

From Wall Street Journal.  Not So Hot: "The latest twist in the global warming saga is the revision in data at NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, indicating that the warmest year on record for the U.S. was not 1998, but rather 1934....The new data undermine another frightful talking point from environmentalists, which is that six of the 10 hottest years on record have occurred since 1990. Wrong.

"NASA now says six of the 10 warmest years were in the 1930s and 1940s, and that was before the bulk of industrial CO2 emissions were released into the atmosphere.... Still, environmentalists have been making great hay by claiming that recent years, such as 1998, then 2006, were the 'warmest' on record....

"... the snafu calls into question how much faith to put in climate change models. In the 1990s, virtually all climate models predicted warming from 2000-2010, but the new data confirm that so far there has been no warming trend in this decade for the U.S. Whoops. These simulation models are the basis for many of the forecasts of catastrophic warming by the end of the century that Al Gore and the media repeat time and again."

Warming or Cooling? Shocker! Ice melt lowest in 30 years: "Ice melt on the world's coldest continent was the lowest in 30 years during the 2008-2009 melt season..."

Cooling! Frigid weekend shatters records [Montana]: "...Sunday's high and low temperatures were record breaking. The high of 26 degrees on Sunday broke the record of 30 degrees set in 1899 and the low at 3 a.m. of 14 degrees broke the 1881 record of 17 degrees.... Similarly on Saturday, the low of 9 degrees broke the 1987 record of 15 degrees....."

Repeated: Climate Conrol. Cap and Trade will HURT the Earth: "Carbon dioxide emissions are good for Earth and don't cause global warming, a noted geologist and best-selling author is warning Congress.... Proponents of the global warming debate claim the planet is warming due to greenhouse gases produced primarily from fossil fuels. Steward was one of many scientists who accepted that idea. But now he is bringing Congress 'a mountain of studies and scientific evidence that suggest CO2 is not the cause for warming.'.... Not only does Steward argue that carbon dioxide does not cause warming, he says CO2 levels are already too low and that more, not less, is necessary to maintain plant growth." See Green Lies

'Planned recession' could avoid catastrophic climate change: "At the moment the UK is committed to cutting greenhouse gases by a third by 2020. However a new report... said these targets are inadequate to keep global warming below two degrees C above pre-industrial levels. The report says the only way... is to double the target to 70 per cent by 2020. This would mean reducing the size of the economy through a 'planned recession.'"

G8 states could face class actions on climate change: "The US and other G8 countries could face class actions on behalf of people in the developing world if they fail to take convincing steps to cut the emissions blamed for causing climate change." See Al Gore's Vision of Global Salvation

Cap and Trade will HURT the Earth: "Carbon dioxide emissions are good for Earth and don't cause global warming, a noted geologist and best-selling author is warning Congress.... Proponents of the global warming debate claim the planet is warming due to greenhouse gases.... Steward was one of many scientists who accepted that idea. But now he is bringing Congress 'a mountain of studies and scientific evidence that suggest CO2 is not the cause for warming,' according to the report. Not only does Steward argue that carbon dioxide does not cause warming, he says CO2 levels are already too low and that more, not less, is necessary to maintain plant growth."

Holdren warned of coming ice age: "...long before [science czar] Holdren was the global warming Cassandra he is today, he was a global cooling alarmist predicting a new ice age. The only consistency seems to be that Holdren has always utilized climate hysteria to argue that government must mandate public policy measures to prevent imminent and otherwise unavoidable climate catastrophes." See Saving the Earth

Control through Crisis?  Climate Depot's Factsheet on 1970s Coming 'Ice Age' Claims: "...the 1970's global cooling fears were widespread among many scientists and in the media. ...[Here is an excerpt from the] 1977 book, 'The Weather Conspiracy: The Coming of the New Ice Age'...: 'In the early 1970s, top CIA thinkers concluded that changing weather was 'perhaps the greatest single challenge that America will face in coming years'....

"Newsweek admitted it erred in reporting on predictions of a coming ice age in the 1970's." [This article has many more examples false predictions from trusted sources]

Treemometers: A new scientific scandal: "At least eight papers purporting to reconstruct the historical temperature record times may need to be revisited, with significant implications for contemporary climate studies, the basis of the IPCC's assessments..... In every case, peer review failed to pick up the errors. ... But trees are a highly controversial indicator of temperature, since the rings principally record Co2, and also record humidity, rainfall, nutrient intake and other local factors. Picking a temperature signal out of all this noise is problematic....

"The process of creating a raw data set also involves a selective use of samples - a choice open to a scientist's biases.... Yet none of this has stopped paleoclimataologists from making bold claims using tree ring data. In particular, since 2000, a large number of peer-reviewed climate papers have incorporated data from trees at the Yamal Peninsula in Siberia. ...

"Scientists have ensured much of the measurement data used in the reconstructions remains a secret - failing to fulfill procedures to archive the raw data. Without the raw data, other scientists could not reproduce the results. The most prestigious peer reviewed journals, including Nature and Science, were reluctant to demand the data from contributors. Until now, that is."

Global Warming Bill Would Cut U.S. Economic Growth: "The bill intended to combat global warming that passed the U.S. House of Representatives in June would decrease the Gross Domestic Product of the United States by $2 trillion to $3 trillion between 2012 and 2030, a study shows.... 'The manufacturing sector actually absorbs a disproportionate burden, nearly two-thirds of those overall job losses."

In the 70s, Obama's Science Adviser Endorsed Giving Trees Legal Standing to Sue in Court: "Since the 1970s, some radical environmentalists have argued that trees have legal rights and should be allowed to go to court to protect those rights. The idea has been endorsed by John P. Holdren, the man who now advises President Barack Obama on science and technology issues." Notice the emphasis on earth-centered spirituality in  "Al Gore's Vision of Global Salvation"

Global cooling hits Al Gore's home: "Nashville, the home of leading global warming prophet Al Gore, has enjoyed the coolest July 21 on record, observes Christopher Booker."

This is a reminder that actual "global cooling" is becoming a real threat to the world's food supply. Meanwhile the deceptive "global warming crisis" has been used to promote an dictatorial global agenda. See The U.N. Plan for Your "Sustainable" Community

Repeated  Crops under stress as temperatures fall -- the world is not warming but cooling: "For the second time in little over a year, it looks as though the world may be heading for a serious food crisis, thanks to our old friend 'climate change'. In many parts of the world recently the weather has not been too brilliant for farmers. After a fearsomely cold winter, June brought heavy snowfall across large parts of western Canada and the northern states of the American Midwest. In Manitoba last week, it was -4ºC. North Dakota had its first June snow for 60 years.... There was midsummer snow not just in Norway... but even in Saudi Arabia."

Are the deserts getting greener? "It has been assumed that global warming would cause an expansion of the world's deserts, but now some scientists are predicting a contrary scenario in which water and life slowly reclaim these arid places. They think vast, dry regions like the Sahara might soon begin shrinking."

Ancient Map Disproves Global Warming: "The enormous significance of the map has only now become apparent as Congress considers sweeping legislation intended to combat global warming supposedly caused by human activity. The map was discovered in the Library of Congress.... It was drawn by well-known French cartographer, Oronteus Finaeus, in 1531. There is no serious question about the authenticity of the map. Finaeus was a well-known scholar and was an expert in cartography, astronomy, mathematics and military weaponry. The map is based on numerous source maps, some of them going back to the time of Alexander the Great (335 BC). ... Antarctica is clearly shown on this map and is pictured as being largely ice-free with flowing rivers and a clean coastline. Some of the mountain ranges pictured on the map have only been recently discovered.... Since Antarctica was much warmer when some of the source-maps were drawn than it is today, the theory that man-made carbon dioxide emissions are the primary cause of climate change must be given up."

Global Warming Petition Project including 9,029 with PhDs: "31,478 American scientists have signed this petition...."

[Video - 10 min.] The Great Water Heist - Part 2: "The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee considered the Clean Water Restoration Act (S787) and approved the bill for a floor vote.... The new language is said to exempt agriculture, but in reality, it exempts only 'prior converted wetlands.' ... By removing the word 'navigable' from the definition of waters under the jurisdiction of the federal government, virtually all water everywhere is subject to federal jurisdiction. This new video is a condensaton of the 90-minute hearing, fully exposing the vast expansion of federal power and the near contempt for Republican efforts to amend the bill."

EPA's Game of Global Warming Hide-and-Seek: "The Obama administration doesn't want to hear inconvenient truths about global warming. And they don't want you to hear them, either. As Democrats rush on Friday to pass a $4 trillion, thousand-page 'cap and trade' bill that no one has read, environmental bureaucrats are stifling voices that threaten their political agenda. In April, President Obama declared that 'the days of science taking a back seat to ideology are over.' Another day, another broken promise....

"In March, Alan Carlin, a senior research analyst at the Environmental Protection Agency, asked agency officials to distribute his analysis on the health effects of greenhouse gases. EPA has proposed a public health 'endangerment finding' covering CO2 and five other gases that would trigger costly, extensive new regulations of motor vehicles.... But Carlin's study didn't fit the blame-human-activity narrative, so it didn't make the cut. On March 12, Carlin's director, Al McGartland, forbade him from having 'any direct communication' with anyone outside his office about his study."

EPA's own research expert 'shut up' on climate change Government analyst silenced after he critiques CO2 findings: "Environmental Protection Agency officials have silenced one of their own senior researchers after the 38-year employee issued an internal critique of the EPA's climate change position.... Carlin... informed officials that two-thirds of his references were from peer-reviewed publications and defended his inclusion of new research on the topic. 'It is also my view that the critical attribute of good science is its correspondence to observable data ...' he wrote. 'I believe my comments are valid, significant and contain references to significant new research…. They are significant because they present information critical to justification (or lack thereof) for the proposed [greenhouse gas] endangerment finding."

Crops under stress as temperatures fall -- the world is not warming but cooling: "For the second time in little over a year, it looks as though the world may be heading for a serious food crisis, thanks to our old friend 'climate change'. State Department Says China to Get U.S. Aid under New Climate Deal: "...there was 'no question' that China would receive both financial and technological assistance from the United States as part of upcoming climate change talks to be conducted in Copenhagen, Denmark. ...[T]he United States will be spreading the wealth China’s way, helping them to meet whatever final carbon emissions reduction goals come out of Copenhagen."

Gore, Ban Push CEOs to Back Climate Change Deal: "Climate-change heavyweights U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon and Nobel prize winner Al Gore urged more than 500 business leaders on Sunday to lend their corporate muscle to reaching a global deal on reducing greenhouse gases. The CEOs of PepsiCo, Nestle, BP and other major world businesses began meeting in Copenhagen, where politicians will gather in December to negotiate a new U.N.-brokered climate treaty. Despite the global financial crisis, both Ban and Gore said there was no time for delay in hashing out the specifics of how to cut greenhouse gases that contribute to warming the planet. "We have to do it this year. Not next year. This year," Gore said. "The clock is ticking, because Mother Nature does not do bailouts." See Al Gore’s Vision of Global Salvation

Managing change. UK population must fall to 30m, says Porritt: "Jonathon Porritt, one of Gordon Brown’s leading green advisers, is to warn that Britain must drastically reduce its population if it is to build a sustainable society..... Population growth is one of the most politically sensitive environmental problems. The issues it raises, including religion, culture and immigration policy, have proved too toxic for most green groups." See next link:

Repeated  Gorbachev's Plan for a United World: "...there was very strong agreement that religious institutions have to take primary responsibility for the population explosion. We must speak far more clearly about sexuality, about contraception, about abortion, about the values that control the population, because the ecological crisis, in short, is the population crisis. Cut the population by 90 percent and there aren't enough people left to do a great deal of ecological damage." [Enthusiastic applause followed Sam Keen's statement in his speech at Gorbachev's State of the World Forum]

'Green' lightbulbs poison workers: "When British consumers are compelled to buy energy-efficient lightbulbs from 2012, they will save up to 5m tons of carbon dioxide a year from being pumped into the atmosphere. In China, however, a heavy environmental price is being paid.... Large numbers of Chinese workers have been poisoned by mercury, which forms part of the compact fluorescent lightbulbs. A surge in foreign demand, set off by a European Union directive making these bulbs compulsory within three years, has also led to the reopening of mercury mines that have ruined the environment."

Environmentalism is like a religion that's based on politics and pseudo-science. No factual evidence can convince its gurus that mercury is more dangerous than CO2, which actually nurtures the growth of plants. See Al Gore’s Vision of Global Salvation

Green jobs' at heart of Obama's Earth Day push on energy: "The Obama administration is using Earth Day for launching another all-out effort to sell the American public and key lawmakers on 'green jobs' as the solution for the United States' environmental and economic woes.... The administration must also try in the next few weeks to push through Congress a budget resolution that raises spending in several energy-related areas....It has become increasingly clear that the administration's central theme -- not to mention its pitch to key lawmakers -- is that energy-related legislative priorities are based not only on environmental merits but on their ability to create jobs. .... [Energy Secretary Steven Chu] testified on Capitol Hill today at the Energy and Commerce Committee hearing on climate change." See Politicized Science

Evangelical Richard Cizik Re-Emerges for Green Cause: "Not much has been heard about Richard Cizik since his forced resignation as vice president of the National Association of Evangelicals last year. But the evangelical leader re-emerged in Washington, D.C., on Sunday to give a lecture on interfaith creation care in observance of Earth Day. Surrounded by Muslims, Sikhs, Jews, and Christians sitting in the pews of a United Methodist church, Cizik spoke about the need for new strategies and ideas to advance the environmental issue.

“The best strategy is to bring religious communities together with scientists,' [Government-funded scientists who reject the facts and side with UN ideology?] Cizik declared as the keynote speaker of the Interfaith Conference...

"The tinder is dry, the condition is right and all it takes is a heart here and a match there and the interfaith religious community is going to wake up,' he said during the 'Hearing Each Other, Healing the Earth' program....

"Cizik has been speaking at colleges across the country on environmental issues and is a senior fellow at the United Nations Foundation.... Cizik did disclose that he will be part of a new evangelical movement that will soon be unveiled." See Is Earth Our Mother?

March 2009

UK population must fall to 30m [cut in half): "Population growth is one of the most politically sensitive environmental problems. The issues it raises, including religion, culture and immigration policy, have proved too toxic for most green groups..... Rapley... said humanity was emitting the equivalent of 50 billion tons of CO2 into the atmosphere each year. 'We have to cut this by 80%."

The Gore Effect: "Driving snow froze the hopes of organizers of 'the biggest global warming protest in history' Monday in Washington. With the government on a two-hour snow delay and the speaker of the House unable to attend because her flight was grounded by inclement weather, shivering protestors gathered on the west front of the Capitol, the latest victims of a climatological phenomenon known by the scientific community as the Gore Effect.

"The Gore Effect was first noticed during a January 2004 global warming rally in New York City, held during one of the coldest days in the city's history. Since then, evidence has mounted of a correlation between global warming activism and severely cold weather.... In October 2008 London saw the first snow since 1922 while the House of Commons debated the Climate Change Bill. That same month Al Gore's appearance at Harvard University coincided with low temperatures that challenged 125-year records." See Al Gore's Vision of Global Salvation

January 2009

Two children should be limit: "Couples who have more than two children are being 'irresponsible' by creating an unbearable burden on the environment... Jonathon Porritt, who chairs the government’s Sustainable Development Commission, says curbing population growth through contraception and abortion must be at the heart of policies to fight global warming.... Porritt... says the government must improve family planning, even if it means shifting money from curing illness to increasing contraception and abortion." See Agenda 21 - The U.N. Plan for Your Community

December 2008

Old Farmers Almanac: Global cooling may be underway: "Based on the same time-honored, complex calculations it uses to predict weather, the Almanac hits the newsstands on Tuesday saying a study of solar activity and corresponding records on ocean temperatures and climate point to a cooler, not warmer, climate, for perhaps the next half century. '...sunspot cycles and their effects on oceans correlate with climate changes,' writes meteorologist and climatologist Joseph D'Aleo. 'Studying these and other factor suggests that cold, not warm, climate may be our future.'...

"Last year, the Almanac correctly predicted 'above-normal' snowfall in the Northeast — an understatement — and below-normal snowfall in the mid-Atlantic states. New Hampshire, home of the Almanac, saw the most snow in 134 years and missed an all-time record by 2.6 inches. Established in 1792, the Old Farmer's Almanac is North America's oldest continuously published periodical. The little yellow magazine still comes with the hole in the corner so it can hang in outhouses." See Green Lies and Amazing Truths

U.S. Senate Minority Report: More than 650 International Scientists dissent over man-made Global Warming claims: "This new 231-page U.S. Senate Minority Report report... features the skeptical voices... including many current and former UN IPCC scientists, who have now turned against the UN IPCC.... The chorus of skeptical scientific voices grow louder in 2008 as a steady stream of peer-reviewed studies, analyses, real world data and inconvenient developments challenged the UN and former Vice President Al Gore's claims that the 'science is settled' and there is a 'consensus.'

"Promoters of anthropogenic warming fears endured the following: Global temperatures failing to warm... inconvenient developments and studies regarding CO2; the Sun; Clouds; Antarctica; the Arctic; Greenland; Mount Kilimanjaro; Hurricanes; Extreme Storms; Floods; Ocean Acidification; Polar Bears; lack of atmospheric dust; the failure of oceans to warm and rise as predicted.” See Green Lies and Amazing Truths

Al Gore's refusal to take the 'Personal Energy Ethics Pledge': "The pledge was presented to Gore by Senator James Inhofe (R-Okla.), Ranking Member of the Environment and Public Works Committee. At the hearing, Senator Inhofe showed Gore a frame from Gore’s movie, 'An Inconvenient Truth' where Gore asks viewers: 'Are you ready to change the way you live?'”

Al Gore sued for fraud? "...we've tried to get a we'd love to have a debate with him, but they say 'oh no, the debate is over.' Well now there are 30 thousand of us. We have 30,000 scientist, 9000 PhDs, who have signed up to debunk global global warming..." See Green Lies and Amazing Truths and Al Gore's Vision of Global Salvation

The world has never seen such freezing heat: "Nasa's Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), which is run by Al Gore's chief scientific ally, Dr James Hansen, and is one of four bodies responsible for monitoring global temperatures, announced that last month was the hottest October on record....

"This was startling. Across the world there were reports of unseasonal snow and plummeting temperatures last month, from the American Great Plains to China, and from the Alps to New Zealand.... In the US, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration registered 63 local snowfall records and 115 lowest-ever temperatures for the month, and ranked it as only the 70th-warmest October in 114 years....

"The error was so glaring that when it was reported on the two blogs - run by the US meteorologist Anthony Watts and Steve McIntyre, the Canadian computer analyst who won fame for his expert debunking of the notorious "hockey stick" graph - GISS began hastily revising its figures. This only made the confusion worse because, to compensate for the lowered temperatures in Russia, GISS claimed to have discovered a new 'hotspot' in the Arctic - in a month when satellite images were showing Arctic sea-ice recovering so fast from its summer melt that three weeks ago it was 30 per cent more extensive than at the same time last year.....

"Again and again, Dr Hansen has been to the fore in making extreme claims.... He was recently in the news here for supporting the Greenpeace activists acquitted of criminally damaging a coal-fired power station in Kent, on the grounds that the harm done to the planet by a new power station would far outweigh any damage they had done..." Climate change deserves same attention bailout is getting: "[Al] Gore came across as part science teacher, part economist and part environmental evangelist. His remarks, which included a funny story or two and mentions of Gandhi and Martin Luther King, drew frequent applause and a few standing ovations. Indeed, the speech had something of a rock concert feel. ... He traced the current crisis with the financial markets to the subprime mortgage mess. There's also a 'subprime carbon' mess that's shaking the world's economy, he said." See Green Lies and Amazing Truths

The Green Hornet: "Al Gore said the other day that 'the future of human civilization' depends on giving up fossil fuels within a decade -- and was acclaimed as a prophet by the political class. Obviously boring reality doesn't count for much these days. Even so, when Barack Obama wheels out an energy agenda nearly as grandiose as Mr. Gore's, shouldn't it receive at least some media scrutiny? On Monday, Mr. Obama said that the U.S. must 'end the age of oil in our time,' with 'real results by the end of my first term in office.' This, he said, will 'take nothing less than a complete transformation of our economy.' " See Al Gore’s Vision of Global Salvation

Climate. Global Warming Tax Hikes Headed Your Way: "Climate change is no longer science. It’s politics – and Democrats would be thrilled if... Republicans take the blame when the bills start rolling in. Climate change is also about power... to control – and curtail – the power we rely on… It’s about who gets to decide: how much energy we will have … what it will cost … and whether there will be enough energy to lift more families out of poverty. Lack of Sunspots and The Mini-IceAge: "Approximately 100 scientists from Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and North America gathered June 1-6 to talk about 'Solar Variability, Earth's Climate and the Space Environment.'... Dana Longcope, a solar physicist at MSU, said the sun usually operates on an 11-year cycle with maximum activity occurring in the middle of the cycle. Minimum activity generally occurs as the cycles change. Solar activity refers to phenomena like sunspots, solar flares and solar eruptions. Together, they create the weather than can disrupt satellites in space and technology on earth. The last cycle reached its peak in 2001 and is believed to be just ending now, Longcope said. The next cycle is just beginning and is expected to reach its peak sometime around 2012. Today's sun, however, is as inactive as it was two years ago, and scientists aren't sure why.

"'It's a dead face,' Tsuneta said of the sun's appearance. Tsuneta said solar physicists... have observed a longer-than-normal period of solar inactivity. In the past, they observed that the sun once went 50 years without producing sunspots. That period coincided with a little ice age on Earth that lasted from 1650 to 1700."

The Bakken Oil Formation -- Welcome to the Next Oil Boom: "The U.S. Geological Survey just published its official results of a groundbreaking study. Its report confirmed a massive oil reserve in an area the locals have nicknamed the 'Bakken,' which stretches across North Dakota, Montana and southeastern Saskatchewan. The new USGS study estimates a whopping 3.65 billion barrels of oil in the Bakken.... Discovered over 50 years ago, the Bakken deposit -- once impossible to extract -- is now being hailed as the single largest oil find in US history. That's because, today, thanks to breakthrough drilling techniques like horizontal drilling, the Bakken's oil shales can be extracted relatively cheaply."

NASA Backtracks On 1998 Warmest Year Claim (In case you missed this last fall): "The warmest year on record is no longer 1998... NASA scientist James Hansen's famous claims about 1998 being the warmest year on record in the U.S. was the result of a serious math error, according to H. Sterling Burnett, a senior fellow at the National Center for Policy Analysis (NCPA). NASA has now corrected the error, anointing 1934 as the warmest year and 1921 as the third warmest year, not 2006 as previously claimed. 'Hansen's conclusions that the majority of the 10 hottest years occurred since 1990 are false,' Burnett said. 'While Hansen's original declaration made headlines, NASA's correction has been ignored.' According to NASA's newly published data:

* The hottest year on record is 1934, not 1998;

* The third hottest year on record was 1921, not 2006;

* Three of the five hottest years on record occurred before 1940; and

* Six of the top 10 hottest years occurred before 90 percent of the growth in greenhouse gas emissions during the last century occurred." See False or Politicized Science

Sunshade World – a global warming solution? : Placing a ‘sunshade’ in space in order to counteract global warming was first proposed in 1989. Stretching from west-central Wyoming to just south of the Arctic Circle, Y2Y is the second largest animal migration corridor in the world.... But the critics... predicted that Y2Y will pave the way for land-use restrictions, road closures and other limits on farming, ranching and logging. Critics outnumbered proponents more than 4-to-1.... Klaus was speaking a the National Press Building in Washington to present his new book, Blue Planet in Green Shackles - What Is Endangered: Climate or Freedom?... The Oil Find That Trumps Saudi's Biggest Oil Field: "We're talking about the opportunity to meet all U.S. oil needs for the next two decades.... Locals call it 'The Bakken.' It's a behemoth oil reserve stretching across North Dakota, Montana and southeastern Saskatchewan... a reserve so massive it contains 10 times more barrels of oil than Alaska's North Slope.... Until recent years, the technology simply wasn't available to economically extract the oil from the Bakken shales... But with breakthrough techniques such as horizontal drilling, the full potential of the Bakken play can now be developed."

That is, unless environmentalist manage to stop it through senseless laws and regulations!. See The U.N. Plan for Your Community

Note: Slanted "science" has become a convenient tool in the hands of dishonest change agents who seek persuasive arguments that back their planned transformation. Many embrace an evolutionary view of the physical, social and spiritual world and don't hesitate to present deceptive "evidence" for their faith. They include Al Gore, liberal college professors, Neale Donald Walsch and many others. But more and more genuine scientists and respected leaders dare expose the deception. Ben Stein did. So does Jeb Bush:

Environment. We heard...: "Jeb Bush says he is skeptical that humans are causing global warming. Addressing several hundred business people in Dallas, Bush said those who urge action to limit climate change are acting out of something akin to religious zeal. 'I don’t think our policies should be based on emotion,' he told the gathering. 'They should be based on sound science.' Bush said the U.S. should focus on 'energy security'— reducing America’s dependence on oil imported from hostile or politically unstable countries..." See Green Lies and Amazing Truths

Biblical Scholars Challenge Pelosi's 'Scripture' Quote: "In her April 22 Earth Day news release, Pelosi said, 'The Bible tells us in the Old Testament, 'To minister to the needs of God's creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us.' ["Pelosi has repeatedly used the quote"]

"'It is not in the Bible,' Mariottini said. 'There is nothing that even approximates that.'...People try to use the Bible to give authority to what they are trying to say....(This) is one of those texts that you fabricate in order to support what you want to say."

Our Climate Numbers Are a Big Old Mess: "...Because there is no substitute technology to achieve these massive reductions, we'll just have to get by with less energy.....

"...every climatologist must know that Greenland's last decade was no warmer than several decades in the early and mid-20th century. In fact, the period from 1970-1995 was the coldest one since the late 19th century, meaning that Greenland's ice anomalously expanded right about the time climate change scientists decided to look at it.....

"...Al Gore's book, "An Inconvenient Truth," ... stating "These photographs from Greenland illustrate some of the dramatic changes now happening on the ice there." Really?...

"Finally, no one seems to want to discuss that for millennia after the end of the last ice age, the Eurasian arctic was several degrees warmer in summer (when ice melts) than it is now. We know this because trees are buried in areas that are now too cold to support them....

"If global warming isn't such a threat, who needs all that funding? ...as we face the threat of massive energy taxes – raised by perceptions of increasing rates of warming and the sudden loss of Greenland's ice – we should be talking about reality." [Mr. Michaels is senior fellow in environmental studies at the Cato Institute and professor of environmental sciences at University of Virginia.]

More Global Warming Nonsense: "Dr. Patz, the World Health Organization (WHO) and others claim that global warming is now spreading disease and may be the cause of some 160,000 deaths a year. In 2007, for example, WHO pointed to rising temperatures in an outbreak of a mosquito-borne virus.... Yet WHO misdiagnosed the problem.....In that case, the transmitter of the disease, or vector, was the Asian Tiger mosquito. It is native to Asia, but exported world-wide in shipments of used tires. It is now abundant in parts of U.S. and in 12 countries in Europe.....

"...malaria was once common in most of Europe and North America. In parts of England.... William Shakespeare was born at the start of the especially cold period that climatologists call the 'Little Ice Age,' yet he was aware enough of the ravages of the disease to mention it in eight of his plays.....in some regions it persisted until the insecticide DDT wiped it out."

Opposition to DDT has hindered the battle against malaria, but that might fit Ted Turner's view of population "control" well. See Saving the Earth

Ted Turner in an April 1 interview with Charlie Rose (slow to open): "TURNER: ...We'll... be eight degrees hotter in 10 – not 10, but in 30 or 40 years. And basically none of the crops will grow. Most of the people will have died, and the rest of us will be cannibals. Civilization will have broken down.... The droughts will be so bad, there will be no more corn growing. . . . we've got to stabilize the population.

"ROSE: So what is wrong with the population?...

"TURNER: We're too many people. That's why we have global warming. We have global warming because too many people are using too much stuff. ... everybody in the world has got to pledge to themselves that one or two children is it."

Turner's irrational predictions make no sense. But his real passion is population control.

Twelve-month long drop in world temperatures wipes out a century of warming: "Over the past year, anecdotal evidence for a cooling planet has exploded. China has its coldest winter in 100 years. Baghdad sees its first snow in all recorded history. North America has the most snowcover in 50 years..... But now, that evidence has been supplanted by hard scientific fact. All four major global temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA's GISS, UAH, RSS) have released updated data. All show that over the past year, global temperatures have dropped precipitously..... For all four sources, it's the single fastest temperature change ever recorded, either up or down....

"Cold is more damaging than heat. The mean temperature of the planet is about 54 degrees. Humans -- and most of the crops and animals we depend on -- prefer a temperature closer to 70.... Historically, the warm periods such as the Medieval Climate Optimum were beneficial for civilization. Corresponding cooling events such as the Little Ice Age, though, were uniformly bad news." The Great Global Warming Swindle: (watch video) "This is a story of censorship and intimidation."... "The environmental movement has evolved into the strongest force there is for preventing development in the developing countries." "...a media scare became the defining idea of a generation." "The whole global warming business has become like a religion and the people who disagree are called heretics." Green Lies and Amazing Truths

The Contrarian of Prague (Slow to open): "...Vaclav Klaus -- who was re-elected last month after being chosen by the Czech Parliament as head of state in 2003. ...likens global-warming alarmism to communism, which he experienced first-hand in Cold War Czechoslovakia, then a Soviet satellite. While the communists argued that we must all sacrifice some freedom in pursuit of 'equality, 'the 'warmists,' as Mr. Klaus calls them, want us to sacrifice liberty -- especially economic liberty -- to prevent a change in climate. In both cases, in Mr. Klaus's view, the costs of achieving the goal, and the impossibility of truly doing so, argue strongly against paying a price of freedom...." See Green Lies and Amazing Truths

February 2008

Forget global warming: Welcome to the new Ice Age: "The U.S. National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) reported that many American cities and towns suffered record cold temperatures in January.... China is surviving its most brutal winter in a century.... And remember the Arctic Sea ice? The ice we were told so hysterically last fall had melted to its 'lowest levels on record? Never mind that those records only date back as far as 1972 and that there is anthropological and geological evidence of much greater melts in the past. The ice is back.

"..the Arctic winter has been so severe the ice has not only recovered, it is actually 10 to 20 cm thicker in many places.... OK, so one winter does not a climate make.... But if... environment reporters can run around shrieking about the manmade destruction of the natural order every time a robin shows up... two weeks early, then it is at least fair game to use this winter's weather stories to wonder whether the alarmist are being a tad premature....

"Showing that solar activity has entered an inactive phase, Prof. Sorokhtin advised people to 'stock up on fur coats.' He is not alone. Kenneth Tapping of our own National Research Council, who oversees a giant radio telescope focused on the sun, is convinced we are in for a long period of severely cold weather if sunspot activity does not pick up soon. The last time the sun was this inactive, Earth suffered the Little Ice Age that lasted about five centuries.... Cropd through killer frosts and drought. Famine, plague and war were widespread. Harbours froze, so did rivers, and trade ceased." See Green Lies and Amazing Truths

Harsh Winter in Afghanistan: Hundreds Die of Exposure: "Afghanistan is experiencing the harshest winter for 15 years. Hundreds of men, women and children have died of exposure. With temperatures dropping below minus 29 degrees Celsius thousands of cattle have also died. Many villages are isolated. ... 150 families in Kuh Khag village have lost at least 1,000 of their 6,000 sheep. Several shepherds are missing in the hills. Villagers are running out of food and fuel." See Green Lies and Amazing Truths

The Polar Bear Express: "Global warming is becoming a new unified field theory for environmentalists.... Consider the political campaign to prod the Bush Administration to list the polar bear as an endangered species.... The problem is that polar bear populations have been rising over the last four decades, and may now be at an historic high.... The more honest activists basically concede that a listing is a P.R. ploy to raise awareness... If the 'iconic' polar bear is classified as threatened, and the harm is formally attributed to warming caused by humans, then their gambit could lead to all sorts of regulatory mischief. Never mind that even drastic world-wide reductions in carbon emissions over the next decade or so wouldn't have the slightest affect on ice melt." See Green Lies and Amazing Truths

Bono confesses sins to 'father' Al Gore: "Sharing a stage with the former US vice president at the annual gathering of world movers and shakers in the Swiss ski resort of Davos, the U2 frontman joked that their friendship was a source of pressure.... 'It's like being with an Irish priest. You start to confess your sins,' he said. 'Father Al, I am not just a noise polluter, I am a noise-polluting, diesel-soaking, gulfstream-flying rock star. 'I'm going to kick the habit. I'm trying father Al, but oil has been very good for me -- those convoys of articulated lorries, petrochemical products, hair gel.' Bono and Gore were in Davos to push their respective campaigns for poverty alleviation and reducing carbon emissions." See Al Gore’s Vision of Global Salvation

Their conflicting goals present an interesting paradox. Gore's plan calls for a shift from oil to ethanol. That means converting wheat and other grain fields to the corn -- not for human consumption but for cars. The result is higher food prices and less food for the poor around the world.  Gore wins; Bono loses. But both share the public applause for speeding transformation. See first item at Global Management System

Prince Charles will appear at conference as a hologram: "...Prince Charles is set to confound his critics by addressing an energy conference - as a hologram. Determined to keep his environmental damage to a minimum, Charles will save the 15 tons of carbon that would have been generated by flying himself and his staff 7,000 miles to the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi. ...

"It [the royal image] is then reflected up on to a paper-thin sheet of foil to create an optical illusion that makes him appear as a 3-D image on stage. Former US Vice-President Al Gore used similar technology to appear as a hologram at Wembley Stadium at the beginning of the Live Earth concerts earlier this year.

"Charles was heavily criticised in January when he.... flew to Philadelphia with 12 staff to pick up an award from Mr Gore honouring him as an environmentalist. That trip created 20 tons of carbon dioxide." See Green Lies and Amazing Truths
