When we follow Jesus and share His love, we will most likelyu share in His suffering as well -- whatever form it may take.
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power
may be of God and not of us. 8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not
crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken;
struck down, but not destroyed— 10 always carrying about in the body the
dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our
body. 11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake,
that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh." (2 Co
4:7-11).
Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet
the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction,
which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal
weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen,
but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are
temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." (2 Co 4:16-18)
Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of
Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count
them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not
having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is
through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I
may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His
sufferings, being conformed to His death..." (Php 3:8-10).
Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you,
as though some strange thing happened to you; 13 but rejoice to the extent that
you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may
also be glad with exceeding joy." (1 Pe 4:12-13)
"You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No one
engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may
please him who enlisted him as a soldier. (2 Ti 2:3-4). [Paul]
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17
and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if
indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. 18
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be
compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." ( (Ro 8:16-18)
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be
compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
The New King James Version. 1982 (Ro 8:18).
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies
and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be
able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we
ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us,
so our consolation also abounds through Christ. 6 Now if we are afflicted, it is
for your consolation and salvation, which is effective for enduring the same
sufferings which we also suffer. Or if we are comforted, it is for your
consolation and salvation. 7 And our hope for you is steadfast, because we know
that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so also you will partake of the
consolation." (2 Co 1:3-7)

For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him,
but also to suffer for His sake," (Php 1:29).
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form
of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of
no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of
men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became
obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God
also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of
those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Php 2:5-11)
