CHRIST'S EXAMPLE

 

Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps.  (1 Peter 2:21)

 

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS  (click on the underlined verses to read them)

Our attitude should be like Christ's, who, although deserving worship and exaltation as God, emptied Himself and took the form of a servant.  Php 2:5-11Lk 14:11  (See Christ's Attitude)

Our attitude should be like His who, after humbling himself, became obedient even to death.  Php 2:5-11  (See Christ's Obedience)

When we are weary and discouraged, His example of endurance in suffering should help us.   Heb 12:1-3

His suffering and response to hostility is an example of how we are to live.  1 Pet 2:20-25  (See His response in Christ's Attitude)

We have been called to suffer because He suffered for us.  1 Pet 2:20-21   (Remember, He also was called to suffer. See We Share in His Suffering)

He commands that we love one another as He has loved us, and He lay down His life for us.  Jn 15:12-13

He commanded His disciples to follow His example of service.  Jn 13:5-15

Those who follow His example of serving will be great in His Kingdom.  Mt 20:26-28,  Lk 22:26-30

He overcame and sat with God in glory.  Similarly, if we overcome in this life, we will join Him in His glory!   Rev 3:21  

We should consider (or fix our thoughts) on Christ who was faithful to His Father who appointed Him.  Christ suffered in His faithfulness.  Heb 2:17-3:6

Like Christ, we should not seek our own glory but seek the glory of God.   Jn 7:14-20

Christ invites us to come to Him and take His yoke.  Mt 11:28-30

Those who hear His voice and follow Him have eternal life.  Jn 10:27-30

We should be imitators of God and walk in love as He did.  Eph 5:1-2

Husbands should love their wives as He loved the church and gave Himself for her.  Eph 5:25-27

The Messiah's footsteps will be our pathway.  Ps 85:12-13

We should be merciful, just as God is merciful.  Lk 6:35-36

We should be holy, just as He is holy.  1 Pet 1:15-16,  Lev 11:44-45
