• Jesus, the very thought of Thee
    With sweetness fills the breast;
But sweeter far Thy face to see,
    And in Thy presence rest.

Nor voice can sing, nor heart can frame,
    Nor can the memory find
A sweeter sound than Thy blest Name,
    O Savior of mankind!

O hope of every contrite heart,
O joy of all the meek,
To those who fall, how kind Thou art!
How good to those who seek!

But what to those who find? Ah, this
    Nor tongue nor pen can show;
The love of Jesus, what it is,
None but His loved ones know.

Jesus, our only joy be Thou,
    As Thou our prize will be;
Jesus be Thou our glory now,
    And through eternity.

    -----------------------

    5. “...let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross..."

    Hebrews 12:1-2

    * * *
May I run the race before me,
Strong and brave to face the foe,
    Looking only unto Jesus
    As I onward go.

    ----------------------

"6. "I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world…. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world…. I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me..."

    John 17:14-23

    * * *
May His beauty rest upon me,
As I seek the lost to win,
And may they forget the channel,
    Seeing only Him.

    -------------------

    ------------------------------------

“...that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory..."
    Ephesians 3:17-21

May the love of Jesus fill me
    As the waters fill the sea;
    Him exalting, self abasing,
    This is victory.
    --------------------------

“You will keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on You,
    because he trusts in You."

    Isaiah 26:3

May the peace of God my Father
    Rule my life in everything,
That I may be calm to comfort
    Sick and sorrowing.

Our awesome God continues to amaze me!!!

    .Just Think About This!
    Did you know...

    1) Psalms 118 is the middle chapter
    of the entire Bible?

    2) Before Psalms 118,
Psalms 117 is the shortest chapter in the Bible?

    3) After Psalms 118,
Psalms 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible?

    4) That there are 594 chapters each
before and after ie. following Psalms 118?

    5) That if you add up all the chapters
except Psalms 118, you get a total
    of 1188 chapters.

    6) And incidentally, 1188 or Psalms 118 verse 8 also
happens to be the middle verse of the entire Bible.

The central verse should have a fairly important
    message, don't you think?

"It is better to take refuge in the Lord
    than to trust in man."

WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE
Al, what really amazes me is God's infinite
    attention to details.
Psalm 119, The words from The heart
and lips of The Greatest man that ever lived.
Upon him was bestowed the greatest accolade
    any man may receive:
He (David) found favor in the eyes of The Lord.
I read psalm 119 very slowly.
What struck me so forcefully, is that we
    are at ground 0, (118:8)
We have put our trust in (Prince )George Bush.
I see nothing but disillusionment and heartbreak
    in the months ahead.
I also hear the words of Trent Lot and
    my skin crawls.
Let us go back and look at the life of David for
a minute. He was being attacked on all sides,
by and army of enemies. On all sides, he could see
nothing but a swarm of buzzing arrows.
Every one of those arrows had but one aim,
but one goal, namely to destroy David.
You think David's situation was alarming,
    yes even, perplexing.
In today's world the future is even more
hazardous. There is more danger than David
could have imagined in his wildest nightmares.
We are living in a random motion Universe.
That simply means we are being bombarded by
atomic projectiles, billions of them every second.
Our only protection is The Love of God.
The cement, the glue that binds and holds a
human being together is the Love of God.
Each life is an integrated structure of many systems.
    These structures are under attack.
We would in short order face death and ultimate
destruction if it was not for the repair work and
    protection of God.
What does The Bible mean when we read the words:
"And there shall be silence in the Heavens for one half hour."
Can you imagine what would happen if
God stopped His striving with men
    (protecting against entropy) for just
    thirty minutes.
    This whole world would disintegrate
    at a rate hitherto unimaginable.
Can you imagine watching a city with a
    million automobiles.
Within half an hour there will be 100 000 accidents.
10 000 drivers will be killed for having been stupid.
For those who survive, what is the lesson to
    be learned?
When the tribulation descends upon the Earth
will you find favor in The Eyes of The Lord?
Do you think you know it all?
Do you think God cannot possibly teach you
    anything more?

The straightjackets were torturous for Anna Chertokova. She hated having her hands covered and tied close to her body. To the attendants, she was nothing more than an animal, not worthy of consideration.

Anna spent ten years in an insane asylum in Russia. She was not even slightly insane. A judge had sent her there because she was a Christian. Her refusal to deny Christ was, to the judge, crazy.
Surrounded by the mentally ill, Anna sometimes questioned her own sanity. In the long nights she would cry out to God in her mind, even as those around her cried out in their anger or terror. Yet she never became angry. The faith that she refused to deny in court, she also refused to deny in the asylum. To those who were able to understand, Anna even tried to be a witness and example of Christ’s love.
“I greet you all with love in our Lord Jesus Christ,” Anna wrote from inside the asylum. “I pray to God that he will make us beautiful and perfect in Christ and that he will take charge of all our affairs. I firmly believe that God who created everybody’s heart and who examines all the affairs of mortal men will judge my dispute with the idolatry of atheism and will execute his judgment and justice.”

Christians may sometimes find themselves in crazy situations that try their patience and test their character. A difficult living arrangement. Confounding office politics. A rebellious child. Can we remain confident in God, no matter our circumstances? We can if we know the secret of contentment. The Bible teaches us that our inner sense of contentment must rule when facing outward circumstances. Our attitude takes its cues from God, not our situation. Otherwise, we risk becoming as confused as our circumstances. Take a lesson from Anna. Instead, ask God to teach you the secret of being content despite your circumstances.

"...in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

"The seed is the word of God. Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away.

Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity.

But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience."
